Available Internship Fields

Applications are currently open for internships in three specialised agricultural fields. All positions are based at the UNISA Bronkhorstspruit campus and come with a 12-month placement starting from 1 November 2025.

1. Plant Sciences (Reference: PSB/04/2025)

Four positions are available for graduates who hold a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science – Plant Science (90082 – PLS).

Interns in this stream will work closely with the Plant Sciences department, gaining exposure to crop production, soil science, and research methodologies that support sustainable farming. This opportunity is suited for graduates passionate about food security and agricultural development in South Africa.

2. Animal Health and Welfare (Reference: AHW/04/2025)

Graduates with qualifications in animal science and health can apply for one of the four positions available. Eligible qualifications include:

  • BSc Agricultural Science – Animal Science (90082 – ANS)
  • Advanced Diploma in Animal Health (90112)
  • Diploma in Animal Health (98026 – AHE)

Interns will support projects related to animal welfare, disease management, and livestock production. This is an important field given the country’s reliance on livestock farming and veterinary sciences.
