BCE FoodService Equipment, a trusted name in the wholesale industry, is seeking a Warehouse Assistant (Late Shift) to join its Johannesburg South operations. This permanent position is ideal for an organised and hardworking individual eager to contribute to a fast-paced warehouse environment.
About the Role
The Warehouse Assistant will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of BCE FoodService Equipment’s warehouse. This includes handling incoming shipments, organising inventory, assisting with order fulfilment, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. The role is physically demanding and requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.
Shift Hours: 13:00 – 22:00
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving, unloading, and storing incoming goods.
- Organising and maintaining warehouse stock.
- Picking, packing, and shipping customer orders.
- Keeping the warehouse clean and well-organised.
- Safely operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Assisting with regular inventory counts and audits.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures.
- Carrying out other general warehouse duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Matric (High School Certificate).
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
- Basic computer literacy.
- Forklift certification will be considered a plus.
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling physically demanding tasks.
