Key Internship Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily delivery of a developmentally appropriate curriculum for Pre-Prep students.
  • Support lead teachers in preparing and executing creative lessons, activities, and educational projects.
  • Help create a caring, stimulating, and safe classroom environment for young learners.
  • Engage with parents and provide updates on their child’s development and progress.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure that the classroom runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Follow school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

Internship Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme (NQF Level 4 or 5 preferred).
  • A commitment to completing your ECD studies while gaining practical experience through this internship.
  • Previous experience with young children, such as babysitting, volunteer work, or practical hours through your studies, is an advantage.
  • A nurturing, patient, and energetic individual passionate about early childhood education.
  • Fluency in English with good communication skills to engage with young children and their parents.
  • Physical stamina to keep up with the demands of a busy classroom.
  • A willingness to align with the school’s ethos, values, and policies.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to complete it within the first few months of the internship).
  • A clear criminal record and compliance with child protection regulations.
  • Ready to sign a confidentiality agreement as part of the intern programme.
