The primary role of a Municipal Patrol Officer includes:

  • Qualifications: Candidates must have a South African Police Peace Officer declaration, which includes a minimum of 6 weeks of relevant training.
  • Firearm Proficiency: A valid firearm proficiency certificate is required.
  • Driver’s License: A valid Code B driver’s license (Code 8) is essential.
  • Background Checks: The candidate must have no criminal record and will be subject to police clearance.
  • Recent Experience: You must have been actively performing duties within the last six months in a relevant law enforcement, police, or traffic environment.

Other Key Requirements

  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in at least two of the three main languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans, Xhosa, or English) is highly desirable. You must be able to read, write, and speak these languages.
