Job Purpose
The Part-Time Invigilator is responsible for monitoring students during assessments to prevent malpractice and maintain the integrity of the examination process. Additionally, invigilators are tasked with ensuring that the assessment venues meet the necessary requirements and provide support in case of emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Invigilator, you will be expected to:
- Monitor Students: Ensure that students are adhering to the assessment guidelines and there is no malpractice.
- Distribute Exam Papers: Distribute answer booklets and exam papers to students in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure Adherence to Assessment Conditions: Make sure that the conditions of the assessment are met, following all relevant policies and guidelines.
- Prepare Assessment Venues: Set up the examination venues to meet the required standards, ensuring all necessary resources are in place.
- Provide Support During Emergencies: Assist in case of emergencies, such as a sick student or a fire evacuation, ensuring a calm and organised response.
- Answer Student Queries: Address any questions or concerns students may have during the assessment period, offering clear guidance.
- Reporting: Provide a detailed report after each session, documenting any incidents or irregularities that occurred during the assessment.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Part-Time Invigilator role at Rosebank College, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Higher Certificate/Diploma will be advantageous
Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role or related field
- No criminal record
