  • Location: Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality (offices in Emanzana, Elukwatini, Empuluzi, and Ekulindeni)

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for the Fire Fighter position, candidates must meet the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Grade 12 certification.
  • Firefighter I and Firefighter II courses.
  • Hazmat awareness and operations training.
  • First Aid Level 3 certification.
  • Code C Driver’s License.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit.
  • Must possess a Medical Test (NFPA 1582).
  • No criminal record.
  • 1-3 years’ relevant operational experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Following standard operation procedures, such as securing vehicle accidents and extricating trapped victims.
  • Reporting to the supervisor and control room during operations.
  • Responding to hazardous material incidents and servicing street fire hydrants.
  • Ensuring regular vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Attending disaster calls as required and performing standby duties when necessary.
