Available Positions

The following positions are currently available on an 8-month fixed-term contract basis. All applications must be submitted by 18 August 2025 at 16h00.

1. Casual Cashiers (18 Posts)

Key Responsibilities:

The Casual Cashier roles will involve a variety of tasks related to payment handling. Key duties include receiving and processing payments, providing information about charges, and reconciling daily collections. The position also involves preparing schedules for verification and submitting payments for deposit.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • 2-5 years’ relevant experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Competency Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks based on urgency
  • Basic cash register experience is essential

These roles require candidates who can work weekends and public holidays, as well as exhibit emotional resilience in handling challenging situations.

Basic Salary: R613 per day worked

2. Casual Lifeguards (9 Posts)

Key Responsibilities:

The Lifeguard positions involve ensuring the safety of pool users by monitoring activities, providing first aid, and responding promptly to emergencies. Lifeguards are also responsible for pool maintenance, ensuring sanitation standards are met, and supervising both public and staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Valid Lifeguard Award and First Aid Competency
  • High proficiency in swimming pool filtration and water chemistry

Competency Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to assess and respond to emergency situations
  • High attention to detail and emotional resilience under pressure

The successful candidates will need to pass the municipality’s skill and fitness test. They will also be expected to work on weekends and public holidays without overtime.

Basic Salary: R717 per day worked
