1. Administrator: Levies and Grants

  • Location: Gauteng, JHB – Eastern Suburbs (Bedfordview)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Closing Date: 18 October 2025
  • Salary: R 285 005 per annum

The Administrator: Levies and Grants will support HWSETA’s finance team by performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions, specifically focusing on Discretionary Grants.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Accounting or equivalent (NQF Level 6)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in accounts payable or general accounting
  • Experience with fund and grants disbursement within the public sector
  • Proven knowledge of financial creditors and account administration

Key Duties

  • Administer discretionary grants, WSP/ATR processes, and stakeholder relations.
  • Capture invoices and claims accurately on the payment system to ensure correct grant disbursements.
  • File proof of payments for reconciliations and audits.
  • Assist with month-end processes and reconciliations of grants.
  • Update and verify new banking details on the system.
  • Manage risk by ensuring compliance with HWSETA financial procedures.

2. Commitments Officer

  • Reference: JHB000205
  • Location: Gauteng, JHB – Eastern Suburbs (Bedfordview)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Closing Date: 18 October 2025
  • Salary Range: R 602 267 – R 805 157 per annum

The Commitments Officer plays a vital role in supporting HWSETA’s finance department by ensuring the commitments register remains accurate, complete, and up to date. This role contributes to effective financial management and compliance with governance processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • B.Com Accounting or Finance (Honours an advantage)
  • 4–6 years of experience as a Commitment Officer
  • Previous SETA experience beneficial
  • SAICA Articles would be advantageous

Key Duties

  • Manage the commitments register and ensure accuracy of discretionary grant contracts.
  • Prepare accruals and provision journals for month and year-end.
  • Assist with both internal and external auditing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, systems, and governance requirements.
  • Administer new and amended contracts within the commitment register.
  • Provide financial reporting and administrative support as required.

3. Provincial Officer: Northern Cape

  • Reference: JHB000203
  • Location: Northern Cape, Kimberley
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Closing Date: 17 October 2025
  • Salary Range: R 605 270 – R 818 005 per annum

The Provincial Officer will serve as a key contact point for stakeholders in the Northern Cape. The role includes providing support for accreditation, implementing skills development initiatives, and promoting employer participation in workplace skills plans.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training and Development, Human Resource Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in SETA, training and development, or human resource development

Key Duties

  • Service stakeholders and support accreditation processes in the province
  • Implement and monitor skills development projects, including learnerships
  • Engage employers to ensure workplace skills plan participation
  • Provide administrative and project support in line with HWSETA’s objectives
