Prospective students interested in pursuing a career in the electrical industry can now prepare to apply to South West Gauteng TVET College (SWGC) – Roodepoort West Campus for the 2027 academic year.

Applications for selected programmes at the campus will officially open on 01 September 2026. The campus is offering opportunities for both school leavers and adult learners who want to gain practical, industry-relevant electrical skills and qualifications.


South West Gauteng TVET College Programmes

Roodepoort West Campus will accept applications for the following programmes for the 2027 academic year:

1. Electrical Infrastructure Construction NC(V) – Levels 2 to 4

The National Certificate (Vocational) in Electrical Infrastructure Construction is available from NQF Levels 2 to 4. This programme provides students with a strong foundation in electrical systems and infrastructure while combining classroom learning with practical training.

2. Occupational Programme – Electrician NQF Level 4

Students can also apply for the Occupational Programme in Electrician at NQF Level 4. This programme is designed to develop the practical knowledge and workplace-ready skills needed for a career in the electrical trade.


Roodepoort West Campus: A Centre of Specialisation

Roodepoort West Campus is proudly accredited as a Centre of Specialisation (CoS) in Electrician.

This accreditation strengthens the campus’s role in delivering specialised occupational training aimed at preparing students for the world of work.
