About the Role
The Protection Services Reaction Officer will be responsible for managing the site when the Protection Services Reaction Supervisor is not available.
The successful candidate will monitor security operations linked to TM Process Operations and Product Movement, while ensuring the protection of company property, assets and people.
The role also involves responding to security incidents, monitoring access control, supporting crime-prevention operations and ensuring compliance with the company’s security objectives and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The Protection Services Reaction Officer will be responsible for:
- Providing specialised operational support during intelligence-driven operations.
- Stabilising serious crime incidents.
- Combating public violence.
- Assisting with Public Order Policing events.
- Directing and monitoring crime operations and projects.
- Supporting efforts to combat serious and violent crime.
- Managing the smooth day-to-day running of the relevant unit.
- Ensuring checks and balances are in place for product movement.
- Monitoring products while in transit through to their final destination.
- Ensuring compliance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
- Maintaining good housekeeping at security posts.
- Ensuring compliance with access control procedures.
- Responding physically to security-related incidents.
- Protecting classified, proprietary and sensitive information.
- Performing duties as a Drone Operator in line with TM ROC and South African aviation requirements.
- Keeping records of drone operations and submitting email reports to the Operations Lead.
- Safekeeping and maintaining drone equipment.
- Reviewing CCTV footage and conducting investigations as directed by Protection Services Management.
- Performing general administrative duties and other tasks assigned by management.
After-Hours Incident Response
The successful candidate will also respond to after-hours security and safety incidents with permission from the Operations Lead.
Following an incident response, the officer must provide an immediate telephone and email report to the Operations Lead.
The role also includes the preparation and servicing of drone equipment every second Sunday from 12:00 to 15:00.

Life-Saving Behaviours

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications
- Grade 12/NQF Level 4.
- PSIRA Grade A Certificate.
- Firearm Competency Certificate.
- SAPS background would be advantageous.
Experience and Skills
Candidates must have:
- At least five years’ experience in the security industry.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience managing a control room and CCTV monitoring.
- A valid driver’s licence.
