Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Aircraft Assistant will perform duties that support safe and efficient aircraft maintenance.
These duties include:
- Assisting Mechanical Technicians with scheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Supporting technicians during unscheduled maintenance activities.
- Stripping and reassembling aircraft interiors and cargo compartments.
- Removing and reinstalling cargo liners under supervision.
- Removing and reinstalling floor panels and interior panels.
- Removing and reinstalling insulation blankets.
- Assisting with aircraft component removal and installation.
- Helping technicians open and close aircraft access panels.
- Preparing aircraft and work areas before maintenance begins.
- Cleaning aircraft structures, components and work areas.
- Moving aircraft components, tools and equipment.
- Retrieving tools, materials and consumables when required.
- Supporting aircraft inspections by providing access to technicians.
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards in work areas.
- Cleaning and returning tools and equipment after use.
- Supporting other Heavy Maintenance sections when required.
- Reporting unsafe conditions, hazards and damaged equipment.
- Performing other reasonable duties assigned by management.
