Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A Grade 12 National Certificate.
  • A recognised qualification as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
  • Active registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in pharmaceutical warehousing, stock management, stock-taking, distribution, and management.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and proactive skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Managing store functions and supervising staff.
  • Overseeing daily receiving, storage, issuing, and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
  • Implementing inventory management practices according to FIFO/FEFO principles.
  • Conducting training, supervision, and discipline of staff.
  • Preparing for annual and bi-annual stock-takes.
  • Investigating inventory discrepancies and monitoring expiry dates.
  • Ensuring compliance with GPP, GDP, Good Warehousing Practices, and SOPs.
  • Managing staff attendance, leave, and performance assessments.
  • Enforcing OHS compliance, including the use of protective clothing.
  • Participating in internal audits and assisting with CAPA implementation.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and operational efficiency.
  • Rotating within different sections of the warehouse when required.
