Barloworld Equipment, the official Caterpillar dealer for Southern Africa, is recruiting four Apprentices (Component Specialists) at its Isando branch. This is a full-time opportunity at Global Grade 03, designed for motivated individuals looking to build a career in specialised component repair and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Complete all theoretical learning, practical training, and required skills assessments.
- Maintain accurate records, including logbooks, training, and skills documentation.
- Work safely by adhering to company health and safety policies.
- Communicate effectively, demonstrate teamwork, and uphold professional conduct.
- Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and individual scorecard requirements.
- Take responsibility for self-management, performance, and reporting.
- Train as a components operator with the potential to qualify in specific component repair functions.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 or N3 with Pure Mathematics and English (minimum 50% pass).
- Advantageous: N3/N4 in Motor, Diesel, or Electrical theory; Technician for the World (T4W) certificate; computer literacy.
- Skills: Familiarity with basic hand tools. Previous workshop or laboratory experience will be an advantage.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle components and parts.
- Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
- Valid motor vehicle licence (Code 10 licence is an advantage).
- Strong numeracy, analytical ability, accuracy, attention to detail, and time management.
- Effective communication and proven teamwork skills.
