About the Role

The cashier position forms the frontline of Sun International’s customer service. Successful candidates will be responsible for handling cash transactions, facilitating chip and voucher exchanges, and supporting reconciliation processes across the casino floor, vault, and satellite stations. Key Responsibilities

Prepared Work Area

• Ensure equipment is functional and service-ready.
• Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station.
• Report and follow up on any faults or defects.

Customer Engagement

• Welcome and interact with guests professionally, creating positive experiences.
• Provide information about promotions, products, and facilities.
• Resolve customer complaints or escalate when necessary.
• Recognise and respond to guest preferences for personalised service.

Cash Desk Transactions

• Handle player transactions, including exchanging cash, chips, vouchers, and smart cards.
• Accurately calculate and execute payouts.
• Complete daily reconciliations for treasury, chips, and cashier machines.
• Detect and escalate suspicious or fraudulent activity.
• Perform end-of-shift cash-ups, reconcile floats, and record accurate documentation for audit purposes.

Candidate Requirements

Education

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• Previous experience in a cashiering or customer service role.
• Gaming industry experience will be an advantage.
• Completion of Sun International’s Cashier Training School is required.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong numerical ability and accuracy in financial transactions.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Knowledge of cash handling, credit transactions, and fraud detection.
• Ability to use cashiering systems and equipment confidently.
• Personal traits including honesty, emotional resilience, attention to detail, and a professional appearance.
