Job Description

The Enrolled Nurse Vacancy comes with a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting patients and improving treatment adherence. Core duties include:

  • Calling eligible patients and referring them to the DSD Nurse for initiation.
  • Capturing all initiated patients on Tier.Net, ensuring accurate data management.
  • Driving IPT initiation among patients on ART, using viral load lists and adherence clubs.
  • Auditing files of patients with missing outcomes and liaising with Data Capturers to update Tier.Net.
  • Managing repeat scripts for IPT patients and ensuring treatment follows national guidelines.
  • Providing counselling in local languages, obtaining consent, and conducting rapid HIV testing.
  • Referring HIV-positive patients to a Professional Nurse for same-day initiation (Handshake approach).
  • Linking mother-baby pairs to care by identifying HIV-positive mothers and PCR-positive infants.
  • Supporting TB/HIV integration by checking TB patients for HIV testing compliance.
  • Screening for TB and STIs using standardised questions and referring patients as needed.
  • Participating in community self-screening initiatives and applying the Risk Profiling tool.
  • Assisting with viral load blood draws under supervision of the Professional Nurse.
  • Creating and managing index testing contact lists, contacting partners, and coordinating with community partners for tracing.

This role is vital in ensuring patient retention, improved adherence to ART, and stronger community linkages to healthcare services.

Job Requirements
