Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Security Level 3 position at Leratong Hospital, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
  • Grade C Security Certificate
  • Valid PSIRA registration
  • No criminal record
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to communicate in more than one official language
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Knowledge of public sector security prescripts
  • Understanding of Batho Pele principles

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining safety and security within the hospital environment. Duties include:

  • Ensuring the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, and hospital assets
  • Managing access control at all entry and exit points
  • Searching vehicles, staff, and patients entering or leaving the facility
  • Conducting hourly patrols within hospital buildings, parking areas, and perimeter fencing
  • Reporting suspicious activities and security incidents
  • Monitoring CCTV surveillance systems
  • Attending sectional meetings and submitting reports
  • Providing backup support to other security units when required
