Key Responsibilities
As a General Worker, your day-to-day duties will involve a wide range of tasks essential to maintaining the efficiency of the manufacturing process. You will be expected to:
- Clean and Inspect Containers: Ensure returned containers are cleaned, inspected for damage or leaks, and prepared for reuse.
- Raw Material Handling: Accurately pick, weigh, and stage raw materials for production.
- Labelling & Packaging: Apply correct and clear labels to raw, intermediate, and finished products. Assist with palletising goods.
- Forklift Operation: Where licensed, you will operate a forklift to move goods safely and efficiently.
- Decanting & Blending Assistance: Assist in decanting bulk materials and loading blending vessels as per instructions.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the factory, including workstations, floors, and equipment.
- Safety and Compliance: Always follow safety protocols, hygiene standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
The successful candidate will work closely with both the production and quality teams to ensure operational standards and safety compliance are met consistently.
Requirements
To be considered for the position of General Worker, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Education: Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift Licence: While a forklift licence is advantageous, it is not essential for this position.
- Physical Fitness: Comfortable with manual labour and factory working conditions.
- Skills:
- Ability to follow instructions and safety signage.
- Basic understanding of weighing equipment and material handling.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of work.
- Energetic, customer-centric, and driven.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Desirable: Experience in the chemical industry is an advantage but not a requirement.
