Requirements

- Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in security & safety in a Public Health environment.
- Skills & Knowledge
- Computer literacy — you should know how to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email.
- Knowledge of CCTV surveillance cameras, access control systems, and control room operations.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Report writing skills.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations related to security, such as:
• Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act, No. 53 of 1985
• Criminal Procedure Act, No. 51 of 1977
• Firearm Control Act
• Labour Relations processes, safety and fire prevention, PMDS (performance management) etc.

- No criminal record.
- Be able to undergo Personnel Suitability Checks (criminal checks, citizenship, qualifications verification, etc.) if shortlisted.
Duties and Responsibilities
If you get the job, some of your duties will be:
- Supervise both internal security staff and those contracted from outside.
- Monitor access control (make sure only authorised people enter buildings, premises).
- Develop, implement and manage safety & security measures.
- Check security registers, enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), monitor personnel at key posts.
- Walk-around inspections of buildings and premises to look for risks.
- Handle conflict when it arises: solve disputes, negotiate where needed.
- Generate reports: monthly staff data, incident reports, non-compliance, faulty equipment.
- Monitor & operate electronic security systems in the control room: CCTV, alarms, key control systems etc.
- Carry out any other duties delegated by your supervisor.
