As the Marketing and Content Coordinator, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in creating, managing, and distributing content across various platforms. This content will focus on driving visibility and engagement, particularly through social media channels, the company website, and auction reporting tools.

The role is ideal for someone who has experience in digital marketing, content creation, and the agriculture sector, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Marketing and Content Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Content Creation and Management: Develop engaging content, including photos, videos, reels, graphics, and text for auctions, livestock events, and rural stories. Ensure that the content aligns with BKB’s brand and messaging.
  • Social Media and Digital Marketing: Market and promote upcoming auctions through various digital channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Channel, and the BKB website. Ensure that all platforms are up-to-date with current auction details and reports.
  • Auction Reporting: Compile and distribute auction reports both online and internally. Work closely with the auctioneering and livestock teams to gather relevant information and ensure timely publication.
  • Community Engagement: Manage the social media calendar and respond to messages and comments on platforms to drive community engagement and create conversations around BKB’s activities.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to source content ideas, ensuring the company’s messaging is consistent and cohesive across all platforms.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed about the latest trends in digital marketing, particularly within the agricultural and auction industries, and incorporate these trends into content strategies.

Job Requirements

To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Grade 12 certificate is essential, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience in content creation, digital marketing, or social media management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications, Canva, Adobe Suite, and video editing software is required. Experience in content management tools and WordPress will be advantageous.
  • Bilingual: Candidates must be fully bilingual in both Afrikaans and English to effectively engage with a wide audience.
  • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is essential, as the role may involve travel for on-site content creation.
  • Key Skills: The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams are crucial.
