Unemployed youth in the Amajuba District Municipality now have an opportunity to gain valuable agricultural skills through a funded training programme at Majuba TVET College.

The college is inviting applications for the Mixed Farming Systems Skills Programme, funded by AgriSETA. This short skills programme is designed to equip young people with practical farming knowledge and improve their chances of employment or self-employment in the agricultural sector.

Mixed Farming Systems Skills Programme Details

This programme focuses on developing foundational agricultural skills related to mixed farming systems, which may include crop production, livestock basics, and sustainable farming practices.


Who Can Apply?

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be unemployed
  • Not currently be studying
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Reside within the Amajuba District Municipality

Preference will be given to:

  • People living with disabilities
  • Female applicants
  • Youth from deep rural areas within Amajuba District

Please note: No stipend will be provided for this programme.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 11 with numeracy, literacy and communication skills

Documents Required

Submit the following with your completed application form:

  • Copy of South African ID
  • Copy of Grade 11 certificate
  • Proof of residence

Certified copies will only be required from selected candidates.
