Job Description
The Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) is seeking 420 unemployed graduates from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) to support its research initiatives through door-to-door data collection. Successful applicants will gain research experience while contributing to evidence-based studies that influence KZN’s economic policies.
Data collectors will be responsible for gathering data from various district municipalities in KZN, ensuring high-quality data collection and adhering to research ethics.
Eligibility Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Age: 18 – 35 years
- Qualification:
- A valid tertiary qualification between NQF Level 6 and NQF Level 8
- NQF Level 8 qualification is an added advantage
- Skills:
- Computer literacy
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency in English and IsiZulu
- Equipment:
- Must own a working smartphone
- Ability to operate a mobile device
- Added Advantage:
- Code 08/10 driver’s license (older than 3 years)
- Previous data collection experience
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct door-to-door data collection in selected KZN municipalities
- Gather information through surveys, personal interviews, and telephone interviews
- Accurately capture data in the MKRI-prescribed format
- Ensure data quality and integrity to support research findings
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards
Terms of Appointment
- Daily Rate: R350
- Contract Duration: 3 years (ad-hoc fixed-term contract)
- Work Location: Candidates will be assigned to work within their district municipalities in KZN
