Part-Time Sports Coaches – Summer and Winter Codes
The College is looking for hard-working, performance-driven and process-oriented coaches who are enthusiastic about sport and education. Successful candidates will contribute to the development of learners across a wide age range, helping them achieve excellence on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and managing interactive, progressive sports practices.
- Coaching across various age groups with age-appropriate methodologies.
- Overseeing match-day logistics and ensuring professional team preparation.
- Implementing the latest coaching trends, technologies, and recovery practices.
- Maintaining strong administrative records and team documentation.
- Promoting discipline, teamwork, respect, and resilience.
- Leading with passion while upholding the Christian ethos and values of Somerset College.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate the following:
- Recognised and relevant coaching qualifications.
- Experience in both summer and winter sporting codes.
- Strong communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of long-term athlete development (LTAD) models.
- Familiarity with injury prevention, recovery, and return-to-play protocols.
- Willingness to coach year-round, including off-season training and holiday clinics.
- A warm, approachable personality that motivates and inspires learners.
- A valid Police Clearance (not older than one month).
