About the Sasol Miner Job
The purpose of this role is to ensure that mining activities run safely and efficiently while meeting production targets. The Miner will supervise a crew, manage safety procedures, and ensure that all mining operations follow legal and company standards.
You will also be responsible for coaching team members, conducting inspections, managing resources, and supporting continuous improvement in the mining section.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Managing crew members to meet production targets
- Ensuring safety, health, and environmental compliance
- Conducting shift inspections and risk assessments
- Overseeing safe transport of employees underground
- Performing statutory inspections such as gas and ventilation tests
- Completing reports and maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring correct use of PPE and equipment
- Managing attendance and performance of crew members
- Requesting and controlling mining materials and resources
- Coaching and training operators in the section
- Acting as Relieving Shift Boss when required
- Participating in Operational Excellence meetings
- Ensuring compliance with mining regulations and procedures
- Supporting organisational and operational improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
To apply, you must have:
- National Senior Certificate (Mathematics required)
- Blasting Certificate for Fiery Mines (Trade Certificate)
- Minimum 4 years relevant mining experience
