The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced exciting employment opportunities in Gauteng, with a total of 148 contract positions now open for applications. SASSA is recruiting 143 contract workers across several Gauteng districts to assist with grant review operations.

Salary

  • R170,226 – R200,523 per year
  • Plus 37% in lieu of benefits
  • Salary Level 3

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Computer literacy

Added Advantage

  • An NQF Level 6 qualification will be beneficial

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will assist with:

  • Beneficiary screenings
  • Manual grant applications
  • File reviews and validations
  • Capturing and maintaining grant data
  • Reviewing documentation for accuracy
  • Conducting home visits where necessary
  • Supporting community review events
  • Updating beneficiary information on the SOCPEN system
  • Assisting with suspension and recovery cases
  • Preparing review reports and maintaining audit readiness

  • Verify source documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Capture unallocated receipts
  • Process write-offs on the BAS system
  • Record debt information accurately
  • Assist with financial statement preparation
  • Support audit compliance and debt management processes
