Trades Available

Applicants may apply for one of the following artisan trades:

Diesel Mechanic

Learners will receive training in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered mining equipment. This trade suits candidates with strong mechanical problem-solving skills.

Auto Electrician

This trade focuses on electrical systems found in mining vehicles and heavy equipment. Learners will develop skills in fault finding, diagnostics, and electrical repairs.

Seriti Engineering Learnership Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science, both with at least an E symbol (40%)
  • Plus two relevant N2 trade subjects

OR

  • Minimum N2 qualification with four relevant trade-related subjects

Trade-specific subjects

Diesel Mechanic

Applicants should have completed:

  • Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Engineering Drawing
  • Diesel Trade Theory or Motor Trade Theory

Auto Electrician

Applicants should have completed:

  • Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Industrial Electronics
  • Electrical Trade Theory

In addition, applicants must:

  • Achieve at least 40% (E symbol) in required subjects
  • Be willing to complete psychometric assessments
  • Work shifts, standby duties, and call-outs when required
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Show initiative and problem-solving ability
  • Identify faults independently
  • Hold, or be able to obtain, a valid Certificate of Fitness
  • Possess a valid K53 driver’s licence
  • Have no criminal record

Advantageous Experience

Although not compulsory, the following will strengthen an application:

  • Previous experience in the mining sector
