Social Media & Community Management Intern

Closes: 31 October, 2026

3-Month Internship | Remote, South Africa

Are you a recent Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media or PR graduate looking for an opportunity to turn what you’ve learned into real-world experience?

We’re looking for a Social Media & Community Management Intern to join our Marketing team for a three-month remote internship.

Please note: This is a graduate internship with a stipend of R4,000 per month. Please consider the internship duration and stipend before applying.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across multiple brands and help manage their day-to-day presence on LinkedIn and Facebook, with potential exposure to TikTok and other digital platforms.

What you’ll be doing

You won’t be expected to come in and figure out a social media strategy from scratch.

Our Social Media Manager handles the strategy, content planning, copywriting and analytics. You’ll receive approved content, copy and creative assets, and your job will be to help us execute well.

Your responsibilities will include:
Publishing scheduled content across multiple LinkedIn and Facebook company pages
Ensuring the correct copy, creative assets, links, tags and formatting are used
Checking published posts for accuracy
Monitoring comments, messages, mentions and tags
Responding to routine comments and enquiries
Engaging with followers and relevant accounts
Identifying opportunities for meaningful engagement
Escalating customer enquiries, complaints and sensitive interactions appropriately
Monitoring pages for spam or inappropriate activity
Keeping track of scheduled and completed posts
Learning and maintaining the different voices and identities of our brands

Who we’re looking for

You’re probably a good fit if you:
Have recently completed a qualification in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media, Public Relations or a related field
Have a good command of written English
Are comfortable using Facebook and LinkedIn
Are digitally confident and learn new systems quickly
Have excellent attention to detail
Are organised and dependable
Can work independently in a remote environment
Communicate professionally online
Are comfortable receiving feedback and learning from it
Know when to take initiative and when to ask for guidance

Previous formal marketing work experience is not required.

We’re looking for potential, professionalism and a willingness to learn.

One thing we care about a lot: attention to detail

You’ll be working across multiple brands.

That means checking that you’re on the right company page, using the right content, attaching the right creative, including the right links and communicating in the right brand voice before you hit publish.

If you’re naturally the person who double-checks things before sending them, we’d like to hear from you.

What you’ll gain

Over the three months, you’ll gain practical experience in:
Social media publishing and execution
LinkedIn Company Page management
Facebook Page management
Community management
Multi-brand marketing
Digital brand management
Online audience engagement
Reputation and escalation management
Professional marketing workflows
Working as part of a marketing team

Where additional tools or platforms are required, in-house training will be provided.

Could this lead to something more?
This is a fixed three-month internship and there is no guarantee of permanent employment.
However, we are a growing group of brands. Where there is a suitable business need, exceptional performance during the internship may lead to consideration for future opportunities within the organisation.
