About the Role

The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service across restaurant operations, banqueting functions, and the casino floor. The role focuses on creating memorable guest experiences while ensuring that all Sun International Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (preferred)
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a waiter or waitron role
  • Sound knowledge of food and beverage service
  • Strong communication and customer engagement skills
  • Cashiering experience and basic computer literacy

Key Responsibilities

Prepared Work Area

  • Prepare mise-en-place, place settings, and service areas before each shift
  • Set up and break down venues for functions according to event requirements
  • Ensure cleanliness of assigned sections and equipment
  • Identify and report equipment or facility issues
  • Comply with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations
  • Use and store equipment according to safety standards
  • Participate in stock takes and report any discrepancies

Service Execution

  • Stay updated on food and beverage products, trends, and menu offerings
  • Take accurate guest orders and capture them correctly on the system
  • Explain menu items and make food and beverage recommendations
  • Coordinate respectfully with kitchen staff on special guest requests
  • Deliver food and beverages according to presentation standards
  • Clear tables efficiently after meals
  • Process guest bills and perform cash-ups where required
  • Upsell promotional items to enhance guest experience and revenue

Customer Engagement

  • Welcome guests warmly and acknowledge them on arrival and departure
  • Provide professional, friendly, and respectful service at all times
  • Identify returning guests and understand their preferences
  • Educate guests on facilities, promotions, and loyalty programmes
  • Handle guest complaints or requests and escalate when necessary
