Requirements
These positions are open to candidates who meet the academic requirements in one of the following categories:
1. Report 191 Engineering
- Minimum average of 65% in:
- N3 subjects (x2)
- N4 Engineering Science & Mechanotechnics (65%)
- N5 Fluid Mechanics or Strength of Materials (50%)
- N6 Fluid Mechanics or Strength of Materials (50%)
2. National Certificate Vocational (NCV)
- A 65% average in the subject applying for.
- Subjects include:
- Fundamentals (Maths, English FAL, Mathematical Literacy, etc.)
- Engineering-Related Design
- Welding
- Automotive
- Office Administration
3. Report 191 Business Studies
- A minimum of 70% in:
- N4, N5, and N6 Computer Practice or Information Processing
Responsibilities
Tutors will work closely with students and subject lecturers to ensure effective academic support. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with homework, tests, and ISATs
- Explaining key concepts clearly
- Preparing tutoring files and reports
- Supporting students with study strategies and test-taking techniques
- Providing feedback to lecturers
- Recording attendance and session preparation
- Maintaining confidentiality of student performance
Selected applicants will also be expected to demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills. A stipend of R150 per session will be paid, with each session lasting one hour.
