About the Opportunity
This full-time apprenticeship initiative forms part of Volkswagen Group Africa’s ongoing investment in technical skills development.
Managed by the Technical Learning Academy (TLA), the programme aims to provide access to trade-related training while supporting the organisation’s broader goal of empowering individuals and uplifting communities. The initiative is also backed by the Union, ensuring inclusive participation and fair access to learning opportunities.
Programme Overview
The Technical Apprentice Programme is designed to provide participants with practical experience and theoretical training, preparing them for future roles within the manufacturing and automotive industry. Successful candidates will gain valuable skills through structured learning and hands-on exposure in their chosen technical field.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- A Matric certificate with a pass in core Mathematics and Physical Science (Maths Literacy is not accepted).
- An N3 qualification (minimum of four subjects, including Mathematics and Physical Science) or higher.
Candidate Expectations
Selected candidates will undergo interviews and be recommended by an internal panel. Applicants must:
- Indicate a first and second choice field of training.
- Be willing to complete studies on a part-time basis.
- Refrain from working overtime during the training period unless authorised.
Employees who have previously completed a TLA Apprenticeship or Learnership will not be considered.
Application Requirements
All applicants must submit the following certified documents (not older than three months):
- A copy of the South African ID.
- The highest school or college qualification.
- A motivation letter explaining why they wish to join the programme and indicating their preferred field of study (e.g. Electrical, Fitting, etc.).
- A working cellphone number and an alternative contact number.
- Current Job Title and SAP number (for internal VWSA employees).
All documents must be uploaded as attachments on the HelloSuccess platform.
Important Notes
