Recognising this, the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) in partnership with the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA) is offering free digital courses to 300 young people. This initiative is designed to empower youth with cutting-edge knowledge in fields that are in high demand, including Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The programme will take in 100 students per course, giving participants the chance to choose one learning path that aligns with their career aspirations.

Course Options
Participants can choose from three dynamic paths, each beginning with a facilitator-led session before transitioning into self-paced online learning:
1. Data Science (3 September 2025)
- Complete the Microsoft Data Science Career Path.
- Access to the Microsoft Certification Exam.
- Duration: Approximately 2 months.
- Structure: Day 1 with a facilitator, then self-study at home.
2. Cybersecurity (4 September 2025)
- Access the Google Cybersecurity Certification course on Coursera.
- Duration: 3 months to complete the certification.
- Structure: Day 1 with a facilitator, followed by online study.
3. AI Engineer Career Path (5 September 2025)
- Complete the Microsoft AI Career Path and certification exam.
- Duration: Approximately 2 months.
- Structure: Day 1 with a facilitator, then continue independently on the NEMISA Microsoft Learning Platform.
