The KZN Department WIL Programme for 2026/2027 is now accepting applications from qualifying students across KwaZulu-Natal. The programme offers valuable workplace experience to students who need practical training to complete their qualifications.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture invites unemployed students between the ages of 18 and 35 to apply. Successful applicants will receive practical workplace exposure and a monthly stipend while completing their required in-service training.

About the KZN Department WIL Programme

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme is designed for students studying towards relevant National Diplomas and TVET qualifications that require workplace experience before graduation.

The programme supports skills development while helping students gain practical experience in government departments.

Successful candidates will be appointed on contracts ranging from one month to 18 months, depending on their qualification requirements.

Monthly Stipend

Participants will receive a monthly stipend of R5,865.25.

KZN Department WIL Programme Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a resident of KwaZulu-Natal
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Be studying towards a relevant TVET or National Diploma qualification
  • Require experiential learning to complete their qualification
  • Have no previous work experience in the field they are applying for
  • Have not participated in a government Work Integrated Learning Programme before

  • Completed Z83 Form (2021 version)
  • Updated comprehensive CV
  • Proof of residential address
  • Qualification information showing completed modules

Only shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit certified supporting documents.

Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), indicating the NQF level of the qualification.
