People think they need a computer to look for work. You do not. Almost everything an employer asks for before your first day can be done on the phone you are holding right now.
A job application usually needs four things: a CV they can open, an email address they can reply to, a phone number that answers, and an application sent before the closing date. Your phone does all four.
What your phone is not good at is long typing and looking at big spreadsheets. That is what Computer Basics is for, later. It is not needed to get hired.
I only have a small amount of data. Is this still for me?
Yes. Every lesson in this course is text and simple drawings, and each one costs a few cents of data. We tell you the size of every lesson before you open it. Nothing here needs video.
I share a phone with someone. Does that matter?
It matters for two things. Set a screen lock so your email is private, and use your own email address rather than a shared one, so a reply from an employer reaches you and not someone else. Lesson 3 covers setting this up.
An employer asks for your CV by 5pm. What do you do?
What happens: The closing time passes. In most cases nobody will chase you for it, and you never find out you missed it by two hours.
What happens: It arrives in time. Employers do not know or care what device you sent it from. They only see whether it arrived and whether they can open it.
