Closes: 30 November, 2026

BVi Consulting Engineers is accepting bursary applications for undergraduate engineering studies in 2027. The bursary is open to matriculants and current students in Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, and you apply by email. Applications close on 30 November 2026.

About the BVi Consulting Engineers Bursary

BVi Consulting Engineers is a South African engineering consultancy established in 1967. It serves government, mining, industry and property development clients, with services covering civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, transportation, water infrastructure and project management.

The firm uses its bursary to find young engineers early. The listing aims at learners with strong results and a demonstrated passion for Maths, Science and Engineering, together with leadership potential and involvement in school or community activities.

Engineering is one of the scarcest skill areas in the country, and consultancies compete for graduates. The bar for entry is high, but there is no application form: you send a motivation and documents by email.

What Is Covered

  • Funding for undergraduate study in 2027 in Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Specific benefits such as tuition, allowances or vacation work: confirmed during the application process

Closing Date

The closing date for BVi Consulting Engineers Bursary is 30 November 2026. No late applications will be accepted.

Why It Matters

South Africa needs more engineers, yet fewer than expected learners reach university with the Maths and Science marks required. A bursary tied to a consulting firm can lead to vacation work and a career pipeline, though the advert does not promise this, so ask about it.

The marks required are high. If you are close, still check other bursaries on this site. If you qualify, apply now rather than on the last day, as email applications can bounce for oversized attachments. Combine your documents into a few clear PDFs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an application form?

No. You email an application letter and your documents.

Can first-year university students apply?

The listing covers matriculants, those who finished matric in the last 12 months, and 2nd or 3rd year students with 60% or more.

What does the BVi Consulting Engineers Bursary pay for?

The listing does not itemise benefits. Ask BVi to confirm this when you apply.

Is it a work-back bursary?

Confirmed during the application process.
