Job Overview
The primary responsibility of the Examination Assistant is to receive, check, control, and scan examination scripts daily. You will be expected to pack the scripts for marking and ensure that the correct number of scripts and marksheets are packed per batch, subject, paper, and examination session.
Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail is critical in this role. You will also need to resolve any discrepancies that arise regarding scripts, marksheets, or examination sessions.

- Receive, check, control, and scan scripts daily.
- Pack scripts for marking and ensure correct counts per batch, subject, and paper.
- Address discrepancies and ensure proper tagging and labelling for marking venues.
- Dispatch and archive scripts after marking.
Quality Assurers
- Receive, control, and distribute scripts to marking teams.
- Check that all questions are marked and totals are accurate.
- Ensure marks are correctly transferred to front covers and mark sheets.
- Reconcile and archive scripts after marking.

Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
- Matric or Equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification: You must have completed matric or hold an equivalent qualification.
- Tertiary Students Eligible: If you are a tertiary student, you are eligible to apply. However, individuals who are writing National Senior Certificate/Senior Certificate and AET Examinations in 2025 are not permitted to apply.
- Experience in Exam-Related Roles: While experience is not mandatory, prior experience as an Examination Assistant or Quality Assurer is highly beneficial.
Candidates will also need to answer the following questions during the application process:
- Have you passed matric or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification?
- Are you currently registered as a tertiary student?
- What is your current or highest year of study at tertiary level?
- Have you passed Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy at matric or tertiary level?
- Have you passed Accounting at matric or tertiary level?
- How many years of experience do you have as an Examination Assistant or Quality Assurer?
