Role Overview
The Human Resources Assistant will play an integral part in managing the day-to-day operations of the HR function. Responsibilities include processing administration, scheduling appointments, conducting orientation, maintaining records, and providing essential support in recruitment, onboarding, terminations, employment equity, industrial relations, and general HR administration.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Selection
- Sourcing and shortlisting candidates for various vacancies.
- Scheduling interviews for HR, Talent Acquisition, and management teams.
- Collecting required documentation from applicants promptly.
- Conducting pre-employment checks and references.
- Capturing and submitting fingerprints.
- Accurately submitting new employee details to Payroll before the monthly cut-off date.
Onboarding
- Assisting with the scheduling of induction sessions, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) inductions.
- Ensuring that HR-related training sessions are organized and assigned a facilitator.
Terminations
- Informing relevant stakeholders about terminations in a timely manner.
- Consolidating termination data on internal trackers.
- Supporting offboarding processes and resolving related queries.
Employment Equity
- Updating the EE analysis monthly.
- Managing EE meeting registers and saving signed minutes.
- Taking meeting minutes as required.
Industrial Relations
- Tracking and monitoring IR actions.
- Ensuring signed warnings are uploaded to the HRIS system promptly.
HRIS and Administration
- Performing transactional administrative functions, including data capturing and maintaining accurate records.
- Conducting regular audits of team member files.
Adhoc Responsibilities
- Compiling reports and fulfilling duties as required.
- Supporting other HR functions whenever necessary.
Minimum Requirements
- 1–2 years of administration experience.
- Familiarity with South African labour legislation, including the Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Labour Relations Act.
Advantageous Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license.
- Completed or ongoing studies toward a relevant diploma or degree.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- A proactive team player who can take the initiative when necessary.
- The ability to work under pressure and deliver quality results within tight deadlines.
