Test-Day Checklist for Your DLTC Appointment

Before going to your Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC), make sure you have everything required. Missing documents can result in your booking being cancelled or postponed.

Documents You Must Bring

  • Identification:
    Green ID book, Smart ID card, or valid South African passport (original documents only)
  • Proof of Address:
    Utility bill, bank statement, or affidavit not older than three months
  • ID Photos:
    Usually two to four colour ID photographs
    (Some DLTCs take photos on-site — confirm when booking.)
  • Booking Confirmation & Receipt:
    Printed booking confirmation and proof of payment
  • Eye Test Results (if required):
    Most centres conduct eye tests on-site, but some may request one beforehand
  • Completed DL1 Form:
    Signed learner’s licence application form
  • Glasses or Contact Lenses:
    Bring them if you normally wear corrective lenses
