They will interpret Collective Agreement clauses and enforce Council requirements. They may also issue Compliance Orders when companies fail to comply.

Agents will calculate amounts owed to the Council due to non-compliance. They will then issue the relevant Compliance Orders.

Investigations and Inspections

The role includes proactive and reactive workplace inspections. Designated Agents must prepare findings reports after inspections.

They will also investigate complaints referred for enforcement. Each case must receive an appropriate investigation within the required period.

Agents must discuss inspection findings with relevant stakeholders. This helps employers understand their compliance obligations and prevent future violations.

Legal and Arbitration Work

Designated Agents will handle enforcement matters that proceed to arbitration. They may also prosecute non-compliant employers successfully.

The position includes serving legal documents on companies. These documents may include Compliance Orders, arbitration notices and awards.

Agents may negotiate and prepare settlement agreements with employer representatives. Senior Agents must approve these agreements.
