Key Responsibilities
As an intern in the SHE department, you will be tasked with a range of critical responsibilities, such as:
- Updating SHE Procedures: Assist with ensuring all safety, health, and environmental procedures are up to date.
- Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations: Help review and conduct risk assessments, as well as assist in investigations related to incidents.
- Communication and Reporting: Contribute to communicating changes in safety procedures and quality standards by attending meetings and updating notice boards and communication screens.
- SHE Training Facilitation: Work alongside the training facilitator to plan and arrange safety training sessions for employees.
- SHE Statistics: Collate and report SHE statistics and results, supporting the team’s ongoing efforts to monitor and improve SHE practices.
- Audit Support: Assist in implementing audit plans and corrective actions, including hygiene, first aid box checks, housekeeping, and area inspections.
- Project Ownership: Choose two key projects to develop your own skills and drive improvements within Unilever’s SHE practices.
- Contractor Inductions: Conduct SHE inductions for contractors entering the workplace.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this SHE Intern position, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
- A completed qualification in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Management, or Science.
- A genuine interest in safety, health, and environmental management.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- An ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
