National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA), in partnership with ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA), will bring three days of free digital skills training programme, entrepreneurship support, and cyber safety education to Alexandra Township through the Alex Digital Empowerment Outreach 2026.

The outreach programme will take place from 27–29 May 2026 at the Altrek Sports Centre, 384 East Bank Avenue, Alexandra, and forms part of a broader effort to promote digital inclusion, skills development, and digital entrepreneurship within local communities.

Supported by the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, the initiative aims to empower residents with practical digital knowledge and tools needed to participate in South Africa’s growing digital economy.

Bringing Digital Opportunities Directly to the Community

The Alex Digital Empowerment Outreach is designed to provide accessible digital training and opportunities to students, entrepreneurs, content creators, job seekers, and community members interested in improving their digital literacy and online capabilities.

The programme will focus on:

  • Mobile digital literacy training
  • Cyber safety education
  • Digital entrepreneurship development
  • Digital identity and .za domain registration
  • Content creation and vlogging
