Key Responsibilities

Food Safety and Hygiene

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP food safety standards.
  • Maintain clean food preparation and storage areas.
  • Store and handle food correctly to prevent contamination and maintain freshness.

Teamwork and Communication

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team.
  • Assist in training junior chefs and kitchen assistants where required.
  • Support colleagues during busy service periods and special events.
  • Communicate effectively with restaurant, front office, and conference teams to ensure excellent guest service.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants should have:

  • A National Certificate or Diploma in Professional Cookery, Culinary Arts, or a related qualification.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience as a Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
  • Good knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Experience in buffet, à la carte, banqueting, or conference catering (advantageous).
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
