About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary office spaces, public areas, kitchens, and restrooms. The role requires attention to detail, good hygiene practices, and the ability to work independently or within a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Dusting surfaces and cleaning windows
- Sanitizing countertops, furniture, and light fixtures
Restroom Maintenance
- Cleaning and disinfecting toilets and sinks
- Restocking soap, toilet paper, and paper towels
- Ensuring restrooms remain hygienic throughout the day
Waste Management
- Emptying trash bins and recycling containers
- Disposing of waste in designated areas safely
Office and Common Area Cleaning
- Cleaning office furniture and shared spaces
- Disinfecting high-touch areas such as door handles and switches
Kitchen and Pantry Cleaning
- Cleaning appliances, cupboards, and kitchen surfaces
- Washing dishes and maintaining pantry hygiene
Stock and Supply Monitoring
- Checking cleaning supplies and reporting shortages
- Refilling hygiene products when needed
Health and Safety Compliance
- Using cleaning chemicals safely
- Following workplace hygiene and safety regulations
- Reporting damages, repairs, or hazards to management
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Matric certificate
- Preferably a South African citizen
- Clear criminal record
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Valid driver’s licence
- Previous supervisory experience in a hygiene or cleaning company will be advantageous
