About the Postbank Learnership Programme

The Postbank Learnership Programme aims to provide unemployed youth with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the banking sector while working towards a Senior Certificate in Banking.

Successful candidates will receive workplace exposure in various operational areas of the bank and participate in structured training designed to prepare them for future employment opportunities in the financial services industry.

What You Will Do

As a learner at Postbank, you will gain practical experience by assisting with various operational and administrative functions. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks
  • Supporting call centre functions and other departmental initiatives
  • Capturing, updating and maintaining records
  • Preparing correspondence and documentation
  • Participating in workplace training and development programmes
  • Following company policies, procedures and professional standards
  • Completing assigned tasks relevant to the learnership programme
  • Attending theoretical learning classes
  • Completing assessments and Portfolio of Evidence (POE) requirements

This combination of practical and classroom-based learning will help participants develop essential banking and workplace skills.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Postbank Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate (NQF Level 4)
  • South African citizen
  • Unemployed with no work experience or limited work experience (0–6 months)
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Reside in Bloemfontein or surrounding areas
  • Willing to enrol for the Senior Certificate in Banking
  • Able to communicate effectively in English

Knowledge and Competencies Required

Applicants should have:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
