Job Responsibilities
As a Temporary IsiZulu Teacher at Arrow Academy, your primary responsibility will be teaching isiZulu to intermediate and senior phase students. This will include both academic and administrative duties while ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Your Key Duties Include:
Lesson Planning & Teaching
- Design and implement lesson plans that align with Arrow’s Dynamic Learning principles.
- Develop teaching materials, assignments, and activities that encourage student participation.
- Maintain structured lesson plans that comply with CAPS curriculum guidelines.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement
- Use effective questioning techniques to encourage critical thinking and active learning.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
- Implement Arrow Academy’s values and behaviour management system.
Academic Monitoring & Parent Communication
- Assess and provide feedback on students’ academic performance and behaviour.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure lesson resources are well-organized.

Collaboration & Professional Growth
- Work alongside teaching staff and administrators to meet professional and academic goals.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) – Intermediate-Senior Phase (or a related qualification).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching isiZulu in a similar role.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web browsing.
- Familiarity with Class Dojo for classroom management.
Language & Communication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in isiZulu, with the ability to teach and assess students effectively.
Teaching Expertise
- Knowledge of CAPS curriculum guidelines, including lower grades.
- Ability to implement creative teaching strategies for language learning.
- Experience in behavior management and creating a positive learning atmosphere.
