Purpose of the Role

The Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring that all office areas are clean, neat, and welcoming for staff and visitors. This role plays an important part in maintaining hygiene standards and creating a positive workplace environment.

Cleaner Job Key Responsibilities

The Cleaner’s duties will include, but are not limited to:

• General cleaning of office buildings and workspaces
• Dusting and polishing office desks and furniture
• Cleaning kitchen areas, including sinks, fridges, stoves, ovens, cupboards, and countertops
• Washing, drying, and packing dishes
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in offices, reception areas, boardrooms, and kitchens
• Spot cleaning windows, glass surfaces, windowsills, and corners
• Watering office plants
• Emptying bins in offices, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas
• Setting up boardrooms for meetings (tea, coffee, water, refreshments)
• Ensuring the reception area is neat and presentable
• Maintaining and stocking cleaning equipment and supplies
• Assisting other departments when required
• Performing additional duties as needed

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate
• At least 2 years’ experience as a cleaner or general worker in an office environment
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and hygiene standards
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
