The Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury, in partnership with the Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET), has officially opened applications for its Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/27 financial year.

This 12-month internship programme is designed to provide unemployed graduates residing in Mpumalanga with valuable workplace exposure and hands-on experience in the public sector.

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend

  • Stipend: R6,500 per month

This opportunity is ideal for graduates who want to build practical experience in finance, auditing, and information technology within government institutions.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the programme, applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Not have previously participated in any youth development programme (including Work Integrated Learning, Learnerships, or Internship Programmes)
  • Hold a completed qualification (NQF 6–9) from a recognised public higher education institution

Fields of Study and Qualifications

The internship is available in the following fields:

Internal Audit

  • National Diploma or higher in Internal Auditing

Financial Management / Accounting

  • Diploma or Degree in:
    • Financial Management
    • Accounting
    • Cost Management & Accounting
    • Public Finance

Information Technology

  • Diploma or Degree in:
    • Information Technology
    • Computer Science

Applicants must have completed at least an NQF Level 6, 7, 8, or 9 qualification (National Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree).
