Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 10 qualification
- Basic Security Course (PSIRA)
- Registered as a Security Officer with PSIRA
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar security environment
- No criminal record or illicit activities recorded
- Willingness to work shifts as required operationally
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining safety and security across municipal premises and facilities. Duties include:
- Securing premises, assets, and personnel
- Performing access control duties
- Monitoring visitors and enforcing security procedures
- Completing security administration and reporting tasks
- Assisting during emergencies and maintaining order
- Operating and monitoring CCTV cameras and related equipment
- Helping prevent theft, crime, and unlawful activities
Important Information for Applicants
Candidates may be required to provide proof of the NQF level of their qualifications.
Applicants who do not currently have Matric/Grade 12 will be required to obtain this qualification within 18 months of appointment as part of the minimum competency requirements.
