SAHPRA Internship Requirements

To qualify for the SAHPRA Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be an unemployed graduate
  • Have never participated in an internship programme before
  • Hold a Matric certificate
  • Hold a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Natural Sciences
    • Health Sciences
    • Or a related field
  • Have a qualification at NQF Level 6 or 7 recognised by SAQA

Applicants with foreign qualifications must submit a SAQA evaluation certificate.


Key Responsibilities of the SAHPRA Internship

Successful candidates will assist with several administrative and regulatory functions, including:

  • Allocating applications and query responses
  • Updating databases and tracking systems
  • Capturing evaluation reports
  • Monitoring evaluator workloads
  • Tracking application statuses
  • Compiling statistics and reports
  • Supporting compliance checks
  • Assisting during internal and external audits
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders
  • Managing records and workflow administration

These duties provide graduates with practical exposure to regulatory processes within the health sector.

Internship Duration and Stipend

The internship programme will run for 12 months.

Successful interns will receive a monthly stipend of:

R16,666.66 per month
