About the Programme

Vhembe TVET College is one of South Africa’s largest public technical and vocational colleges, serving the Vhembe District in northern Limpopo. This 4IR Skills Training initiative will accept 100 learners in total: 50 for the Mechatronics (Robotics and Automation) programme starting 1 July 2026, and 50 for the IoT Developer course (SAQA ID 119262) starting 1 October 2026. Closing Date

The closing date for the Vhembe TVET College 4IR Training Programme 2026 is 24 June 2026. No late applications will be accepted.

Why It Matters

South Africa’s economy is automating fast, and the skills gap in robotics, automation and IoT is growing just as quickly. For unemployed youth in Limpopo, this programme removes the two biggest barriers to entering tech: cost and distance.

The training is offered at a public TVET college campus in the Vhembe District, and entry requires only Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science, not a degree or prior experience. Three months of focused, practical 4IR training can move a young person from job seeker to candidate for technician and developer roles in mining houses, factories, farms and municipalities that are rolling out smart technologies. With only 100 places available, early applications matter.
