The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced new job opportunities in the Eastern Cape, with posts available for an Administrative Officer (Level 7) and several Grants Administrators (Level 5). These positions form part of SASSA’s ongoing commitment to delivering efficient social services across the province.

1. Administrative Officer (Level 7)

  • Salary: R325 101 – R382 959 per annum, excluding benefits
  • Location: Sterkspruit Local Office (Ref: SAS 12/2025)
  • Closing Date: 1 September 2025

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must hold:

  • A Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) recognised by SAQA.
  • At least three years’ relevant experience.
  • Computer literacy.

A valid driver’s licence will be considered an added advantage.

Duties

The appointed candidate will:

  • Provide support services to the Local Office in transport, HR administration, provisioning, and general support services.
  • Manage asset administration and supervise subordinates.
  • Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA, Chapter 6, Part 3).

Preference: African Male/PWD; African Female; Coloured Male.

2. Grants Administrators (Level 5)

  • Salary: R228 531 – R268 950 per annum, excluding benefits
  • Closing Date: 1 September 2025
  • Locations:
    • Mt Frere Local Office (Ref: SAS 13/2025)
    • Libode Local Office X2 (Ref: SAS 14/2025)
    • Cofimvaba Local Office (Ref: SAS 15/2025)
    • Lady Frere Local Office (Ref: SAS 16/2025)
    • Fort Beaufort Local Office (Ref: SAS 17/2025)
    • Idutywa Local Office (Ref: SAS 18/2025)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must hold:

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in a relevant field, recognised by SAQA.
  • Computer literacy.

An administrative or clerical background and a valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.

Duties

Successful candidates will:

  • Provide customer care services.
  • Screen and capture grant applications.
  • Handle beneficiary maintenance functions.
  • Administer payment documents and issue grant application forms.
  • Perform scanning and batching of grant files.

Preference: Targeted per office, including African Female, African Male, PWD, and Coloured applicants as specified.
