Key Responsibilities
- Career Centre Management:
- Develop and implement the career centre plan in alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor and track graduate placement targets and ensure they are met.
- Manage the campus career readiness workshops and monitor their effectiveness.
- Plan and execute orientation and graduation events.
- Ensure compliance with policies and maintain up-to-date administrative records.
- Business Development & Client Interaction:
- Market the career services to potential employers, securing job placements for students.
- Identify new target markets and develop strategies to engage them.
- Build relationships with employers to create job opportunities for graduates.
- Conduct virtual or face-to-face client visits and obtain job descriptions for graduate applications.
- Student & Graduate Work Readiness:
- Monitor student and graduate engagement with the Career Development portal.
- Organize and oversee career readiness workshops and invite industry speakers.
- Maintain accurate records of coached graduates in the database.
- Placements & Success Stories:
- Track the graduate placement process and provide support during the transition.
- Follow up with employers post-placement to ensure a smooth transition for graduates.
- Collect and update placement success stories and share them with key stakeholders.
- Campus Career Events & Entrepreneurship Workshops:
- Plan and execute campus career days, entrepreneurship workshops, and career expos.
- Coordinate guest speakers, logistics, and marketing materials for events.
- Profile and maintain a database of entrepreneurs who attended workshops.
- Visibility & Reporting:
- Ensure career services are well-promoted on campus through visibility boards and student engagement.
- Compile and submit reports to the National Career Services Manager and other stakeholders.
- People Management:
- Lead and manage a high-performance team, driving performance through effective reviews and feedback.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to staff on HR policies, including promotions and industrial relations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Relevant 3-year Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Career Services Management, with a strong understanding of higher education systems.
- Key Skills:
- Knowledge of South African higher education systems and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Effective team collaboration and leadership abilities.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
